Sound Bath

This fall, step into a nurturing, supportive journey for expecting parents at Kindred. 

Prepare for the journey of birth with support, guidance, and community in our Labour & Delivery Workshop. This two-hour session is designed for expecting parents and their partners, offering practical tools, hands-on practice, and a space to build confidence for the birth experience.

Rooted in prenatal yoga, hands-on bodywork, and doula care, this workshop draws on my experience as a massage therapist and osteopathy student to guide parents in connecting deeply with their bodies, their babies, and each other. Together, we create a gentle, supportive space where questions are welcome, fears can be released, and trust in your body’s wisdom for birth can grow.

In this workshop, you will:
-Learn about the stages of labour and what to expect physically and emotionally at each stage
-Explore movement, positions, and comfort techniques to ease labour during each stage
-Practice breathing, relaxation, and mindfulness strategies to stay grounded
-Gain hands-on guidance for partners to support labour effectively

Labour & Delivery Workshop

You're invited to join us for a soulful afternoon of gentle yoga and creative expression as we celebrate Imbolc—a time of renewal and reflection—and prepare to welcome the Spring Equinox. Imbolc marks the halfway point between the Winter Solstice and the Spring Equinox, symbolizing new beginnings, purification, and the awakening of life. It's a moment to celebrate the returning light and honor nature's cycles by planting seeds, both literal and metaphorical, for growth in the coming year.

Our event begins with a calming yoga session led by Maria Payne. She will incorporate Reiki and yoga massage to help quiet the mind, reconnect with the body, and open the heart through gentle movements, breathwork, and guided meditation.

With your heart and mind open, artist and instructor Karen Lia Schlick will lead you in creating a body, mind, and spirit mandala using a variety of materials. Mandalas have been used for centuries in various cultures as tools for meditation and self-reflection. Through the symbolic language of colors, shapes, and symbols, we'll uncover meaningful insights and messages to carry with us throughout the year.

All art materials will be provided—just bring your curiosity, an open heart, and your yoga mat. We'll be experimenting with mixed media, with a particular focus on watercolors.

Restorative Yoga - Drop-in

8 week series of gentle and supported yoga poses, accompanied by deep breathing and relaxation techniques. This series promotes flexibility and calming of the nervous system.

Winter Restorative Series

Join us for prenatal yoga, where our Yin Yoga-inspired restorative practice focuses on the body's fascial connections. This nurturing approach targets joints, connective tissues, and muscles, promoting mobility, body awareness, and relaxation. Expectant mothers can honor their changing bodies and connect with their babies in a supportive space.

Enhance your experience with hands-on assisted yoga, blending my expertise in Thai Massage, massage therapy, and osteopathic training, infused with Reiki's love and intention. With years as a bodyworker and birth doula, my goal is to leave you feeling lighter and more mobile.

Exciting news! At the end of November, I'll be offering a Labour and Delivery course to guide mothers and birthing partners through labor's stages and explore comfort measures for each phase.

Each session is lovingly crafted and can be tailored to suit your unique needs, no matter the trimester. Classes are billable under your massage therapy benefits. I look forward to supporting you on this beautiful journey.

We'll focus on increasing joint mobility, improving muscle circulation, and connecting breath with movement, all while cultivating loving awareness and compassion to deepen the mind-body connection.

Each class will serve as an exploration into the body through a playful and intuitive approach, embracing the concept of the body as an integrated system. Expect a different theme each session as Maria, a second-year osteopathic student, incorporates her knowledge into the class format. This brings a deeper sense of awareness with education on anatomy to enhance your body awareness. Whether you're going through a life transition, dealing with chronic pain, or feeling burnt out, the goal of this class is to foster a deeper connection to your body and support your journey of self-discovery.

Classes are open to all levels and body types, with modifications available to ensure inclusivity for everyone.
